28 May 2011: "Big Society Hospital" Action
Sarah reported that Oxford Save Our Services, Keep the NHS Public and theAnti-Cuts Alliance had a great success last Saturday 28th May protesting against the NHS Bill on Cornmarket Street.
The “Big Society Make Believe Hospital” media stunt featured street theatre and a splendid banner made by local artist Stig (incidentally, the designer of NOW's new logo!) and can be viewed here [http://oxfordsos.org.uk/?p=1103] and on Youtube.
In little over 2 hours, over 700 people had signed a petition to save the NHS and the campaign was featured heavily in local media. NOW thanks Sarah and Liz, in particular, for their work on this issue.
